- MARC BEGINS 2024 ON A HIGH NOTE...CELEBRATING 64 YEARS OF PUBLIC PERFORMANCE IN 2024...ANNOUNCES RETIREMENT FROM DRUMMING ACTIVELY -

R

Marc has begun the new year out with a bang and 2 Shows in February at Granite Hill Estates in Hallowell, Maine on February 7...a new Venue where he got a very warm welcome and will return in March...and February 8 at Schooner Memory Care where he will perform about every other month through the end of the year. "GREAT way to start out the year with back to back shows and a great reception at each" he said. "It was very nice at Granite Hill where I'd never been before and the reception was very heart-warming and looking forward to making it a frequent Venue in the future".

"After much thought and almost 60 years...in 2024...Marc has announced he is retiring from active drumming. "If there is a one-off with my friends especially Get Back...I will come out for that...too good to miss. But the years of being my own Roadie have taken a toll on my body from knee replacements to hernias to just getting older with no one to help...the time has come focus more on my Solo piano work which is easier to handle and the piano was my original instrument to begin with...so now I've come full-circle. I still plan to continue teaching drums and piano...which I love to do...and have no plans to retire from that. I still very much enjoy introducing folks young and older...to the world of music and so far they seem to enjoy it as much as I do!". Marc's 1st show as a Drummer was a Variety Show at St. Hyacinth Hall in Westbrook, Maine in November 1964 at age 13. "I hope to do some recording so I have my electronic kit set up to keep my chops up and not get too rusty. It's been a great run but now the time has come to close out that part of my musical career" he said.

Marc  is also planning to revamp his program in 2024 also. "For much of my recent Solo shows I've play variations of the same songs. Recently I added the Belafonte sing-along and the Roger Williams Medley which I plan to keep, and add a Beatles medley, something I've put off doing due to the abunance of  songs and making sure I have the ones that will best represent the Boys, both collectively and individually. I've already started tinkering with songs and a possible running order so the planning has begun. This year will be my 64th year in front of an audience so I want to make sure they will be fully entertained!".

Marc is already booked in 2024 with a repeat peformance  at Granite Hill Estates in March, Westbrook Seniors in March, weather permitting, and the Sawyer Memorial Hall Show in late August. He has already booked a Home bi-monthly through the end of 2024 including the Christmas Show this December!  He is also planning on rebooking Homes he had to cancel at the end of  2023.
