WELCOME TO THE PHILIP AND JEANETTE MAILHOT
MEMORIAL STUDIO AT MARCO POLO MUSIC

STUDIO

As we begin our next generation of service to the music community,
we have made considerable upgrades to our equipment and services
to better serve our customers. We pride ourselves on the quality of
services we offer, from Marc's live performances, to his music
lessons and each customized digital project we provide.

Our Studio is meant to be ideal for demo or informal recording
where initial song ideas are presented and recorded.
It is not meant for a final project, but rather for the
performer/composer to feel free to try new songs and ideas out here.

The following information describes our new facilities in some detail.

Central to the Studio is a new HP All-In-One computer system with Windows 11
and an 11th Generation Intel processor for lightning-fast results in all projects.
Also central to the computer system are 3 Western Digital Hard Drives,
two 4 TB and one 6 TB Drive for large projects and plenty of storage.

Our cool little studio.

For Digital Services, including preservation of vinyl and cassette tapes,
is a new Audio Technica AT LP140 XP Manual Direct Drive Professional
DJ Turntable for precise tracking, cueing, and care of vinyl records.

It replaces our previous Technics SLP3200 Semi Auto Turntable which
reached the end of its useful life after over 40 years of faithful service.

We also use a Vintage Sony model TC WE475 Dual Cassette Deck for cassette tape projects.

The Dual Deck allows us to make an extra cassette copy for you, if desired.

For output we will continue to use our original model pair of Rokit 5
Studio Monitors, which have given us excellent service over the years,
and a Logitech Computer Speaker system for desktop use.

For recording we significantly upgraded our equipement to a TASCAM DP24 SD
with 24 tracks, and a host of effects for recording and mastering projects.
We have several DAW workstations for processing as well.

On-site are 2 Shure SM58 microphones and an SM57 microphone.
We plan to add additional mics in the future.

In order to maintain some actual vintage gear in the Studio,
we have kept our 1999 Yamaha Model PRS 640 Keyboard.
Hundreds of voices, sounds and effects reside on this musical instrument.
Of course if you prefer to bring your own, that's fine too.

THE PHILIP AND JEANETTE MAILHOT MEMORIAL STUDIO

The Studio is named for and is a tribute to Marc's parents who
were instrumental in his musical upbringing, and musical performance on their own as well.
His mother Jeanette wanted to be a Classical Pianist, but developed epilepsy at age 11.

Even though she did not perform at Concert Venues, she did perform
for thousands of people on both sides of the Pond until shortly before her passing
in April 2010, four days shy of her 80th Birthday.

Philip was a perfomer in his own right, beginning in his 20's
entertaining audiences directing plays, singing, and leading audience sing-a-longs.

And from 1968 to 1971
managed Love, Inc. , Maine's most popular and successful band,
in which Marc was their drummer.

Philip and Jeanette entertained many
audiences at Variety Shows, Retirement and Nursing Homes and other venues.
Marc currently continues the tradition they started, performing at many
of the same type venues. Philip passed away in November 2021 at age 96.

They were married two months shy of 60 years when Janie passed away.

Philip Mailhot 1925-2021
Veteran, Accountant, Performer, and Love, Inc. Manager

Jeanette "Janie" Smith Mailhot 1930-2010
Pianist and Performing Musical Artist.

Janie left her son the gift of music to continue her Legacy.

As a youngster growing up, Marc and his Mom would watch
Bernstein's Young Peoples Concerts in the 50's and 60's together
and his mom introduced him to Classical Music when he
began taking piano lessons at age 6.

In 1962 Marc saw and met Roger Williams,
Ferrante & Teicher, and Loren Hollander.

As a tribute to his mother Janie, Marc plays a brief
excerpt from Gershwin's  Rhapsody in Blue at every performance.
Marc will also perform We'll Meet Again by Vera Lynn as a Tribute
to his Dad, who closed the shows he and Janie performed at with that song.
